About Check My Lake:
Find out if your favorite lake is safe for you and your family!
What will you find?
- This website will tell you if your lake is safe & suitable for swimming and other recreation.
- It will also tell you if the fish in your lake have been tested for mercury, the primary concern with eating fish from Minnesota lakes.
- If you can't find your lake, that means the state has not tested it.
- You will find useful information on how you can help keep Minnesota lakes clean!
The state is required to test every lake in Minnesota to make sure they are suitable for recreation and eating fish. So far, the state has failed to meet this requirement.
